Make your deliveries easier, even when you’re not at home!
You can use the Evri app to tell your courier where to leave your parcel, which neighbours you prefer, and whether you need any additional assistance at your door.
Follow these simple steps to set up your preferences.
1. Open Your Evri App
Open the Evri app on your phone.

From the home screen, look for Your delivery preferences and tap to open them.
2. Check Your Address
Under Location, check that your delivery address is correct.

Tap Address if you need to review your details.
When setting a GPS pin on the map picture, please use the entrance the courier will use for delivery rather than the house you’re in. This includes if you require a delivery preference to a specific location.
3. Choose Your Safe Place
Under Delivery preferences, select Safe place to choose where your parcel can be left if you’re not home.

Depending on the options available, you may be able to select:
- Enclosed porch –
A porch with an outer door that can be opened to place a parcel inside, while the main entrance to your home remains locked. Only select this option if you have an enclosed porch and are happy for your courier to open its outer door. - Letterbox – for anything small enough to post
- Parcel box –
A purpose-built parcel box or suitable lidded storage box in an accessible location. Where possible, choose somewhere sheltered and out of public view. - Back door – leaving the gate unlocked for access.
- Garage
- Outbuilding
- Shed
- Greenhouse
Helpful tip: Choose a secure, accessible location where your courier can safely leave your parcel.
💡 If you prefer not to leave a suitable gate or parcel box unlocked, a combination padlock may be a suitable alternative. Provide the code in your delivery instructions if appropriate, and make sure the courier can access the box safely.

4. Add a Note to Help Your Courier
After choosing your safe place, use the Notes box to explain exactly where it is. You can enter up to 250 characters and may also be able to upload a photo.

Example:
“My parcel box is beside the front door, behind the gate. Thank you!”
Clear directions can help your courier locate your chosen safe place quickly.

Helpful tip: After choosing a secure, accessible location where your courier can safely leave your parcel, taking a photo of the safe place and providing it on the Evri App helps the courier recognise the safe place more easily.
5. Choose Your Preferred Neighbours
You can select neighbours you’re happy for your parcel to be delivered to and identify addresses you would prefer your courier to avoid.

Select the appropriate tick or cross beside each listed neighbour, then save your preferences.

📝 If there are more neighbours to “Trust” or “Avoid,” use the notes section to include the extra information. No judgement, no drama. The snarky cow from two doors down can keep her nose out of our business.
6. Set Your Accessibility Instructions
Open Accessibility instructions to select any options that would help your courier deliver to you.
Available options shown in the app include:
- More time to get to the door — allow extra time for you to answer.
- Ring my doorbell — ring the bell instead of knocking.
- Don’t block access — avoid leaving a parcel where it obstructs your doorway.
- No accessibility instructions — select this if you don’t need any of these adjustments.

Tap your preferred option and save your selection.
7. Check and Save Your Preferences
Review your choices and make sure your instructions are saved.

You can return to your delivery preferences whenever your circumstances change.
Update it as needed. Give as much notice as you can. If it’s an urgent request, a note taped to the door like the good old days works well and couriers would rather be informed and helpful than receive negative feedback for not following an instruction they weren’t given.
A Few Things to Remember
✅ Keep your instructions short, clear and up to date.
✅ Make sure your chosen safe place is secure and accessible.
✅ Tell us exactly where your parcel box or safe place is located.
✅ Remember that preferences are requests, not guarantees. Your courier will try to follow your instructions where possible, but some deliveries may have restrictions.
